Springhill Cemetery is believed to have been used just prior to 1836.  Local settlers purchased 200 acres of land for the Ministry of the Church of Scotland, and 10 acres were reserved to be a cemetery. The original cemetery originally had 120 plots.  In 1887, when the Osgoode Presbyterian Church was built in Vernon, the cemetery was given the official name of Osgoode Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Springhill Memorial Chapel was built in 1885 and was used as the Springhill School until 1969.
