Founded in 1897, the Women's Institutes goals were initially to provide education to women to be able to keep their families healthy and promote social connection, and has since evolved to lead educational campaigns on topics including gender, Black history and Indigeneity.
Dalmeny is a small hamlet situated on Dalmeny Road (formerly Carleton County Road 4), south-east of the village of Osgoode. The Dalmeny Women’s Institute was organized on December 13, 1920, with 17 attending the afternoon meeting at the Dalmeny Public School. Meetings were held at the school, member’s homes, the Dalmeny hall, and other nearby Women’s Institute branches.
The last record of a meeting is March 17, 1926.
